Is There a Crunchyroll Release Calendar in the App? Where to Find It, and the Best Alternatives (2026)

You open the Crunchyroll app to check when tonight's episode drops, and there is no calendar to tap. It exists, just somewhere else. Here is where it is, how to get it onto your iPhone, and what to use when you want more than one service's schedule.

Quick answer: Crunchyroll's help center puts its release calendar on the website, at crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar, not in the app. On iPhone, open it in Safari and add it to your Home Screen. For a countdown and alerts for only the shows you follow, on any service, Rexy is our app: free for up to seven shows, iOS 26 or later.

Where the Crunchyroll Release Calendar Is

Crunchyroll publishes one official schedule, the release calendar (its web address calls it the simulcast calendar). It lays out the week by day, with each new episode, movie or season that goes live on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll's help center says you can switch the view between Premium episodes and the free new episodes, so you see what your plan actually gets you.

The same help center answers the question this post is named for: the calendar is on the Crunchyroll website. The iPhone app is built for watching and for your watchlist, which can tell you when a new episode of a show you follow is available. What it does not give you is a page of the week ahead.

How to Put the Crunchyroll Calendar on Your iPhone

If the official calendar is all you need, Safari can turn it into an icon that opens like an app:

  1. Open crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar in Safari and sign in, so the calendar matches your plan.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen, name it something like "CR Calendar", and tap Add.
  4. Open it from the new icon whenever you want the week's schedule.

That takes about thirty seconds and costs nothing. It is the right answer if every show you watch is on Crunchyroll and you are happy to check the page yourself.

What the Crunchyroll Calendar Does Not Do

Three gaps send people looking for something else:

  • It only knows Crunchyroll. A season split across Crunchyroll, Netflix and Disney+, as Fall 2026 is, needs a second calendar for everything else.
  • It shows every show, not yours. In a busy week that is a long page to scan for the four series you actually follow.
  • It waits for you to look. A calendar page counts nothing down and alerts no one. If you want to be told an hour before an episode airs, you need an app that runs on its own.

The Calendar of Only Your Shows

Rexy puts every show you follow that airs this week on one screen, from Crunchyroll or anywhere else, grouped by day, with a countdown to the exact minute each episode airs in your timezone, alerts at the lead time you pick, and a link to where it streams. Free for up to seven shows, no account. iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, iOS 26 or later.

Best for alerts and countdowns across services: Rexy

This one is ours, so weigh it accordingly. We built Rexy for the job a calendar page leaves undone: knowing exactly when the next episode of your shows lands, and being told before it does. Its main screen, Watch Week, groups this week's episodes by day with a next-episode card counting down to the minute. Air times come from real episode data (Rexy reads air dates from AniList) converted into your timezone, so a late-night Japanese broadcast that lands on a different calendar day for you is already sorted. Alerts fire at the lead time you choose, and Where to Watch links each series straight to the services that carry it, Crunchyroll or otherwise. Rexy does not host or play video and is not affiliated with any streaming service.

The Season Browser shows the whole season as a poster grid with filters for where to watch, studio, genre, format and status, so you can see everything on Crunchyroll this season, or everything that is not. Follow one series and Rexy follows the franchise: seasons, movies, OVAs and specials. There is no account and no sign-up; your list syncs through iCloud, and recommendations run on your device.

Pricing: free for up to seven shows, with Watch Week, countdowns, alerts, the season browser and the Catch Up planner included. Rexy+ is $1.99 a month, $9.99 a year or $29.99 once for unlimited follows, Live Activity countdowns on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, all ten themes and icons, and friend sharing. Not for you if: you are on Android, or your iPhone cannot run iOS 26. Rexy is Apple-only.

Best if everything is on Crunchyroll: the official calendar in Safari

The Home Screen shortcut above is the honest first answer for a Crunchyroll-only viewer. It is the source of truth for when an episode goes live on the service, it reflects your plan, and it is free. The trade is that you check it rather than it telling you.

Best for your own calendar app: Sync2Cal

If you live in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, Sync2Cal publishes a Crunchyroll release schedule you can subscribe to there or in Outlook. Each entry carries the series, the episode number and the air time in your timezone, and because it is a subscription rather than a downloaded file, new episodes appear on their own. It is Crunchyroll's whole schedule, though, not a list you choose.

Best for the whole season at a glance: LiveChart.me

LiveChart.me lays out every show airing this season, on every service, as a chart of cards with countdowns. It works in Safari on iPhone, and its push alerts come through an Android app; there is no iOS app. Our LiveChart.me guide for iPhone covers how to use it there.

Best for dub times: AnimeSchedule.net

Crunchyroll dubs often arrive later than the subtitled episode, on their own schedule. AnimeSchedule.net is a free website with a weekly timetable in your timezone and separate raw, sub and dub times, filterable by streaming platform. If you wait for the dub, this is the calendar to check.

Another iPhone option: MeronPan

MeronPan is an iPhone anime calendar app, free with in-app purchases, with a calendar view and notifications when a new episode of a show you follow is released, across streaming platforms. If Rexy's iOS 26 requirement rules it out for you, it is worth a look.

Which One Should You Use?

If you only watch on Crunchyroll, save its calendar to your Home Screen and let the app's watchlist tell you when a followed show has a new episode. If you want the schedule inside your calendar app, subscribe through Sync2Cal. If you watch across services and want to be told before each episode airs, use a schedule app, which on Apple devices is what Rexy is for. If you wait for dubs, keep AnimeSchedule.net handy. For a show you finished that has not come back yet, our guide to finding when your anime returns explains how to tell a confirmed date from a rumor, and our anime tracker comparison covers keeping a full watch history.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a release calendar in the Crunchyroll app?

Crunchyroll's own help center says its release calendar is on the Crunchyroll website. On an iPhone, open crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar in Safari and add it to your Home Screen so it opens like an app. For a calendar of only your shows, with alerts, use a schedule app such as Rexy.

Where do I find the Crunchyroll simulcast calendar?

At crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar, on Crunchyroll's website. It lists new episodes by day, and Crunchyroll's help center says you can switch between Premium episodes and the free new episodes to see what is available to you. It covers only what streams on Crunchyroll.

How do I get notified when a new anime episode comes out?

Use an app that alerts you ahead of the air time rather than checking a calendar. Rexy, our app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, sends air-date alerts at the lead time you pick for every show you follow, on any service, with no account. LiveChart.me sends notifications to a signed-in account, and its push alerts come through its Android app.

Can I add the Crunchyroll schedule to Apple Calendar or Google Calendar?

Not from Crunchyroll itself, but Sync2Cal publishes a Crunchyroll release schedule you can subscribe to in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, with times shown in your timezone. A subscribed calendar updates on its own, so new episodes appear without a new download.

Is there a release calendar that covers Crunchyroll, Netflix and other services together?

Yes. LiveChart.me and AnimeSchedule.net show the whole season across services on the web, and Rexy shows the shows you follow from any service on one calendar of the week, with a link to where each one streams. Rexy is Apple-only and requires iOS 26.
